Offensive struggles cost CU women
The snowy conditions were outside, but Creighton's offense was stuck spinning its wheels inside D.J. Sokol Arena in a 63-55 women's basketball loss to Missouri State in front of 651 on Saturday. Creighton turned the ball over 10 times in the opening period, leading to 14 Missouri State points. The Bluejays finished the game just 22 of 62 from the field and shot 4 for 20 from 3-point range.

Blue suits Gibbs very well

McDermott's story has been well-documented, about how he committed to Northern Iowa as a senior at Ames High School. McDermott was all set to play for Ben Jacobson until his father took the Creighton job, leading him to ask for and receive a release from his letter of intent in order to become a Bluejay.

Bluejays profit from sharing

Premium ContentClick on Premium Content on the Featured navigation bar for information.Creighton's unselfishness has been a big reason behind the efficiency that makes the Bluejays one of the country's top offensive teams. But a willingness to share the basketball can't totally explain the dramatic improvement Creighton's offense has made in the course of a calendar year. The Bluejays are a team that after 23 games this season has scored 326 more points, made 124 more baskets and dished out 128 more assists than at a similar point a season ago.

Jays ground Redbirds by dominating opening minutes

Notes: CU centers garnering attention
Gregory Echenique and Will Artino provided Creighton with a one-two combination at center Wednesday night that put a hurting on Illinois State. They combined for 21 points and 10 rebounds in the No. 13 Bluejays' 102-74 victory at CenturyLink Center. Artino was especially impressive on the offensive end, making all three of his shots from the field and all five of his free-throw attempts to finish with 11 points, two shy of his career high.
