Tickets go on sale for 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Tickets are now on sale for the IMAX release of "The Dark Knight Rises," the third film of the critically acclaimed trilogy and probably the most-anticipated film of the year.

Director Christopher Nolan's conclusion hits theaters worldwide on July 20. Tickets for screenings at AMC IMAX theaters in Omaha and Council Bluffs can be purchased here.

While making the 2008 blockbuster "The Dark Knight," Nolan was the firstfilmmakerto use IMAX cameras in a major motion picture release.

Nolan employed the extremely high-resolution cameras even more extensively on "The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience"-- includingthe film's prologue--incorporating a record of more than an hour of footage filmed with IMAX cameras.

Leading an all-star cast, Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake. Returning to the main cast, Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules”) plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”) reprises the role of Lucius Fox.

"The Dark Knight Rises" has been rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, some sensuality and language.
