    BASKETBALL

    Big games at the C-Link

Saturday's matchup with Wichita State is one of the biggest for Creighton at the CenturyLink Center. Other C-Link highlights include games against Kentucky, Southern Illinois and the Shockers. Re-live some of the biggest games at the downtown arena.

    1. March 23, 2009 vs. Kentucky

Big-name team creates big-time atmosphere as Wildcats become the first Southeastern Conference team to visit Omaha in nearly 70 years for the second-round NIT game. Game lives up to billing, with Kentucky All-American Jodie Meeks' three-point play with 10 seconds left allowing Wildcats to escape with 65-63 win.

    2. Feb. 7, 2004 vs. S. Illinois

A Missouri Valley showdown of 17-2 teams ends with Salukis squeaking out a 61-60 win to snap Creighton's 28-game home-court winning streak. A crowd of 14,372, then the second-largest in program history, turned out for the first nationally televised game at Omaha's new arena.

    3. Jan. 28, 2006 vs. Wichita State

It might be difficult to top this one if you're looking for great finishes. Creighton trailed by 19 points midway through the first half but rallied before Anthony Tolliver hit the game-winning shot in a 57-55 win as time expired. A record crowd of 15,678 witnessed the dramatics.

    4. March 28, 2011 vs. Oregon

Dana Altman, who had been on the home team's bench for the first 117 games at the arena, finds himself coaching from the visitors' side as Oregon visits for the opening game of the College Basketball Invitational championship series. A loud but respectful crowd of 12,381 turns out to see the Bluejays post an 84-76 win against their old coach.

    5. Dec. 9, 2006 vs. Xavier

The Musketeers are the first ranked nonconference team to visit Omaha's new arena, and the first to lose there. Tolliver scored 17 points and the Bluejays never trailed in the 73-67 win in a game that matched teams that eventually made it to the NCAA tourney.

    6. Nov. 26, 2005 vs. Dayton

Nate Funk scores 15 points after regulation, including the game-winning basket with 5.7 seconds left, as the Bluejays win the first double-overtime game at the arena. Funk finished with a career-high 38 points in the 91-90 win against the Flyers.

    7. Feb. 18, 2006 vs. Fresno State

Late night with the Bluejays, as a record crowd of 15,700 shows up for the BracketBusters game that started at 11:02 p.m. and didn't end until early the next morning. Tolliver scored 17 points to lead Creighton to a 67-62 victory.

    8. Feb. 28, 2009 vs. Illinois State

Creighton celebrates its first championship at the arena as the 74-70 victory on Senior Day helps the Bluejays earn a share of the Valley title. Booker Woodfox, playing his last regular-season game at the arena, scored 20 points as the Bluejays posted their 10th straight victory.

    9. Dec. 1, 2010 vs. BYU

Doug McDermott becomes the first Creighton freshman to post a double-double since 1988, but it's not enough to knock off the Cougars and eventual national player of the year Jimmer Fredette. The Bluejays held Fredette to a season-low 13 points but BYU pulled out a 77-65 win in the Missouri Valley-Mountain West Challenge game.

    10. Nov. 9, 2007 vs. DePaul

Highly-touted freshman P'Allen Stinnett comes off the bench to score all 23 of his points in the second half to rally the Bluejays to a season-opening win. DePaul jumped to a 23-6 lead, but Stinnett helped ignite a 14-4 second-half run to send the Bluejays to the 74-62 win.
