LINCOLN (AP) — Lincoln Police have arrested a man they believe crushed the head of a woman's dog.
Police Capt. Jason Stille that Michael Darby, 53, was arrested around 1 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of felony animal cruelty.
Stille said the woman reported that Darby told her late Tuesday night that something had happened to her dog.
The woman found her Chihuahua bleeding from the nose, mouth and an ear. X-rays showed the dog had suffered a number of skull fractures.
Stille said police were not able to find Darby until early Thursday morning.
