Omaha police are asking for the public’s help in catching the three men responsible for an attempted armed robbery Friday night at the Walgreens at North 72nd and Cass Streets.
Surveillance footage shows three men dressed in black clothing entering the store just before 9 p.m. and confronting the cashier. One man gestures with his shotgun near her head.
Officer Jacob Bettin, a spokesman for the Omaha Police Department, said the suspects demanded money, but the cashier could not open the cash register.
While in the store, the armed suspect racked a round with the shotgun to get attention.
The video shows a young person entering the store behind the suspects, who faced the cashier with their backs to the front door. Then the armed man turned to the front door and pointed the shotgun at an obviously surprised and frightened female bystander.
The suspects quickly left the area on foot without any cash, Bettin said.
