GENEVA (AP) — Voters will decide March 13 whether to raise local property taxes to pay for improvements and more space at the Fillmore Central district high school in Geneva.
Officials said the $9.8 million measure would raise taxes an estimated $115 a year on a property valued at $100,000.
More than 19,000 square feet of space would be added to the north side of the school for a practice gym, locker rooms and other rooms.
More than 17,000 square feet would be added to the south side of the school for an auditorium and theater, a music room, restrooms and an expanded commons area.
Officials said the construction work would begin by late this summer and be completed in fall 2013.
