NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) — A trial has been postponed for a North Platte woman charged with manslaughter and drug counts in connection with the drug overdose death of her sister.
Elizabeth Crawford, 40, had been set to appear in court on Tuesday, Jan. 31, but will now face trial on May 15.
Crawford's sister, Ester Smith, 45, died from a meth overdose in Crawford's home on Aug. 3.
Crawford's attorney, Bob Lindemeier, said that before he can continue to trial, he must gather more statements from others, including another man charged with manslaughter in the case, 41-year-old Jeff Manary.
