Neighborhood notes

The Benson 125th Anniversary events committee is asking the community to share memories of this community in photos, stories and videos. The group wants to capture and share memories for younger and future generations.

If you have images of the buildings, people or places from 1887 through 1990, the committee wants to see them. It will make digital copies and return the originals. The photos will appear on bensonnebraska.com and on YouTube and at events throughout 2012.

Also wanted are interesting memories — written or videotaped — of old Benson.

To share your memories, email BensonNebraska@gmail.com or call 402-714-0290.

The January newsletter of the Keystone Community Task Force contains reminders about snow removal:

» The Omaha Municipal Code requires all sidewalks to be shoveled within 24 hours after the city's major streets are cleared. Report uncleared walks at 402-444-5283.

» Moving snow into the street violates the municipal code. The Public Works Department can charge homeowners for snow moved improperly into a street or alley.

» Remove enough snow from around curbside mailboxes that a mail carrier can drive the truck up to the boxes for delivery.

» Assist yourself and your neighbors by keeping fire hydrants visible and accessible.
