Sixth-graders at St. Patrick School in the Elkhorn area recently worked on an assignment given by the Archdiocese Tool Time Project. Each student had to design a tool that would address a real-life problem.
Students researched existing tools, came up with a new invention and created a model of this tool.
Students then designed a presentation promoting their tool and its potential to improve life. They also worked on obtaining a patent and researched how this is done.
Inventions included the Pack Mule, the Cluster Buster, the Accessories Belt, the Trashinator, Notebook Tape and a Comfrachair.
One student commented: “This is a really neat experience. We were able to make a new and improved tool and present it to the school. It was fun and I learned a lot.” — St. Patrick School
