LINCOLN — Nebraska senior Ashley Miller was named the most valuable female performer as Huskers athletes won nine events Saturday at the Frank Sevigne Invitational.
Miller set a personal best in the mile with a time of 4 minutes, 39.11 seconds. Her performance ranks fourth on NU's all-time chart an is the 12th-fastest in the NCAA this season.
Ricco Hall had a personal-best performance in the men's 400 meters, taking first in 46.93. His time ranks fourth in school history for the indoor 400 and puts him seventh nationally this season.
Luke Pinkelman claimed another shot put title Saturday, taking first with a throw of 62 feet, 5¾ inches. Other winners for NU were Chris Phipps in the men's triple jump title, Mara Weekes in the women's 200, Dexter McKenzie in the men's 200, Ellie Grooters in the women's 600 and the men's 1,600-meter relay team.
The Huskers hit the road next weekend for two-day meets at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark, and the Iowa State Classic in Ames.
