Doane College was picked to win the Great Plains Athletic Conference in baseball and Morningside in softball, according to preseason coaches polls.

Baseball: 1. Doane. 2, Northwestern. 3, Hastings. 4, Morningside. 5, Mount Marty. 6, Midland, 7 (tie), Briar Cliff, Concordia. 9 (tie), Dakota Wesleyan, Nebraska Wesleyan. 11, Dordt.

UNK leads RMAC’s Plains Division

KEARNEY, Neb. — The University of Nebraska at Kearney baseball team has been picked third overall and tied with New Mexico Highlands for first in the Plains Division in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll. Colorado Mesa is the overall favorite.

Senior southpaw Mike Loseke and junior catcher Chandler Klute were selected to the preseason team.

Chadron State was picked ninth and the Lopers 10th in the RMAC’s preseason softball poll. Colorado Mines was first.
