MANKATO, Minn. — UNO goalie Ryan Massa, injured in Friday night's overtime victory against Minnesota State-Mankato, was evaluated at a local hospital and released early Saturday, UNO officials said.
He spent the night at the team hotel.
UNO's athletic training staff said that Massa, a freshman from Littleton, Colo., has a head injury and will be re-evaluated by team doctors on Monday.
Massa attended UNO's Saturday morning practice in Mankato, though he didn't participate.
Massa, coming off a win over top-ranked Minnesota-Duluth, earned a second straight start for the first time all season on Friday. He allowed only one goal while making 39 saves, but was injured as a Minnesota State player crashed into him in goal 43 seconds into the overtime period.
He was taken from the ice on a stretcher.
