Greg Zuerlein, a former University of Nebraska at Omaha kicker who played last fall at Missouri Western, has been named an NCAA Division II first-team All-American by D2football.com as well as Don Hansen.
Zuerlein, who made all nine of his field goal attempts from at least 50 yards, was selected the Don Hansen national special teams player of the year.
Northwest Missouri State had two players on the Don Hansen first team — offensive guard Cody Johnson and linebacker Chad Kilgore. Teammate Kyle Kilgore, a tight end, was named to the third team.
The University of Nebraska at Kearney's Arthur Hobbs was named a first-team defensive back by D2football.com. Another Loper, offensive lineman Stephen Goodin, was named to the second team.
Chad Kilgore also was a first-team linebacker on the D2football.com team, while Northwest Missouri teammate Jordan Simmons was named the all-purpose player on the second team.
