A Cinderella story

STORY BY MEGHAN TOWNLEY PHOTOGRAPHY BY MULTI-IMAGES PHOTOGRAPHY

This Swarovski Crystal-studded soiree could have been plucked right from the pages of a fairy tale. Everything from the bride's shoes to the cake, invites and the bridesmaids' hairpieces glistened in crystal.

“Almost everything had sparkle on it because anyone who knows me knows that I love sparkle, and I love anything with Swarovski Crystals,” says Kari Hanson.

Kari and Brandon Weber were high school sweethearts and could not wait to tie the knot. “I didn't really get nervous. We had been dating for such a long time, so we were ready and excited,” says Kari.

Kari and Brandon agreed that seeing each other for the first time was their favorite part of the day. “We did a private first glance at the balcony at Indian Creek (the ceremony and reception location),” says Kari. “I came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. It was a very special moment.”

Kari wore a strapless, trumpet-fit dress with a modified sweetheart neckline and lace-up back. In true princess-style, she wore white 4-inch pumps covered in Swarovski Crystals.

“My ‘something old' was my great- grandmother's crystal necklace. We also borrowed my grandmother's champagne flutes and serving ware.”

Kari had always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, so the location was very important. “I was nervous about the weather because there really was not a backup plan, but everything turned out perfect,” she says.

Brandon built the arbor that they stood under for the ceremony, and he designed the invitations, programs and RSVP cards. “We got to make them exactly as we wanted, so that was special,” says Kari.

They had their wedding and reception at the same location, which was convenient. “I thought I would miss out on the limo ride with my wedding party, but we ended up being able to take more pictures, and I had lots of time to spend with Brandon.”

The couple released doves in place of a unity candle, and they wrote their vows. Brandon got a little choked up while reading his vows, but the flower girl lightened the mood by screaming, “What … is he crying or something?”

The gorgeous ceremony was followed by a wonderful celebration. And of course … everything dripped in crystals.
