Ron Gerard, the spokesman and director of communications for Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle, will be leaving his position as of Oct. 1.
He was not immediately available for comment Friday afternoon.
Gerard was a field operation director during Suttle's election campaign and began as communication director in June 2009. He is also a former TV meteorologist at KPTM and KETV.
“Ron has been a significant part of this administration. We thank Ron for his service, he is leaving on good terms and we wish him continued success,” said Steve Oltmans, Suttle's chief of staff.
