An Omaha company, e.Construct.USA, will provide construction engineering services for a $900 million bridge project in Kuwait.
Jag Nijhawan, a principal with the company that opened at 2111 S. 67th St. in October 2009, said the Al Jahra Bridge project in Kuwait City involves the construction of 12 miles of elevated roadway.
The Arab Contractors Bridge & Specialized Structures Department is overseeing the construction.
Nijhawan said e.Construct’s partners on the project are a firm in the Czech Republic and Summit Engineering of Littleton, Colo.
He said the Omaha company’s work began Aug. 25 and will continue for four years.
E.Construct associates working on the project — Maher Tadros, Shane Hennessey, Amgad Girgis, among others — primarily will work from Omaha but will travel frequently to Kuwait, Egypt, Italy and the Czech Republic to coordinate the work of other parties.
