EDMOND, Okla. — The UNO soccer team surrendered a goal in the 90th minute and lost its season opener 2-1 to Central Oklahoma at the Broncho Invitational. Hayley Renshaw had the Mavericks’ goal.
Fox made a save on a shot by Ashton Morris but couldn’t control the rebound. Summer Grantham knocked the loose ball past Fox for the game winner.
The Mavericks fought back from a 1-0 deficit to tie the game in the second half when Renshaw headed the ball past goalkeeper Samantha Rusk from 10 yards out. The unassisted tally came at 55:08.
Fox had nine saves while playing all 90 minutes.
The Mavericks (0-1) will face Midwestern State (1-0) Sunday at noon.
