Couple ProfilesMegan Duell & Brock Bulas 4.10.10It was a prescription of love for Megan Duell and Brock Bulas when they met in 2006. “It wasn't long before we realized we both liked the television show ‘Lost,'” Megan says. From that night on, they took turns watching the show at each other's apartments, went out for ice cream and did yoga together at the student fitness center. They became engaged June 20, 2009, when Brock arranged a Father's Day weekend family gathering in Kansas City, Mo., to watch the Royals play the Cardinals. “I didn't even think to look at the box sitting on the bed,” she says. “As I opened the first box, I saw another box wrapped inside. Four more boxes later, she found a jewelry box. “Brock got down on one knee, said some beautiful words and proposed.” The proposal was a surprise to Megan's family. “It was so wonderful to have family around. I wouldn't have wanted it to happen any other way.” Megan, 24, an Omahan, and Brock, 26, of Hastings, Neb., were married April 10 at West Hills Church in Omaha. Like Brock's proposal, their wedding was filled with romantic details, such as soft flowers and elegant designs. Their colors were black, ivory and indigo blue with orange and bright green as accent colors. For her bouquet, Megan chose ivory garden roses, ivory ranunculus, ivory tulips, blue hydrangea and green spider mums. She incorporated three photo charms of loved ones now gone: Brock's grandmother and her grandparents. “In addition to our parents, our grandparents set wonderful examples of love and marriage. That is why I placed these photo charms on my bouquet,” she says. For a bit of fun, the Bulases, who are both pharmacists, dispensed prescription bottles filled with M & Ms as guest favors. The medication name? Endless Luvinol from Happy Couple Pharmacy. It was Brock's idea. The couple's grand entrance to their reception also had a touch of whimsy. They boogied to “Born to Be My Baby” by Bon Jovi. She wore dark sunglasses and Brock's tuxedo jacket while he donned her veil and carried her bouquet.
