ARLINGTON, Texas — Five Creighton players had multiple hits, including Trever Adams and Carson Vitale with four apiece, as the Bluejays posted an 11-5 victory over Texas-Arlington on Wednesday night at Clay Gould Ballpark.
Adams and Vitale each hit two doubles, while Adams had four RBIs and Vitale scored three runs.
Alex Staehely also went 3 for 3, and Scott Thornburg and T.J. Roemmich added solo home runs as the Bluejays put together a season-high 19-hit attack.
Mark Winkelman threw a perfect 1-1⁄3 innings, striking out two, to pick up the first win of his career.
Creighton (6-3) scored in four of the first five innings to jump to a 9-1 lead over the Mavericks (4-8) that it would not relinquish.
