    Big first inning sinks Bluejays

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The Creighton baseball team fell behind early and couldn't muster a comeback in a 10-3 loss to Northern Colorado on Saturday at the Bearkat Invitational.

Bluejays starter Mike Nihsen allowed seven runs while retiring just one of the eight batters he faced, and Creighton (5-2) managed just five hits after collecting 15 in a win over the Bears on Friday.

Seth Budde had a bases-loaded double to start the scoring for Northern Colorado, and Harrison Lambert closed the seven-run inning with a grand slam.

Ty Blach kept Creighton in the game after the first, throwing 6.2 innings while allowing just one run and striking out seven.
