NEBRASKA
Applicants
must both apply in person with proper ID and must provide city and state
where parents were born.
No blood test is necessary.
The cost is $15, payable by cash, money order or cashiers
check in Douglas and Sarpy Counties; payable by cash or personal check
in Lancaster County.
The legal age is 19; parental consent is needed for ages 17 or
18.
No one under the age of 17 can be married in the state of Nebraska.
Your marriage license is good for one year from the date of issue.
If not used, you must re-apply.
There is no waiting period after your license is issued before
you can get married. Marriage licenses are issued by each county courthouse.
The license is valid throughout Nebraska.

IOWA
Applicants

age 18 with proper ID.
No blood test is necessary.
The cost is $35, payable by cash, money order or cashiers
check.
The legal age is 18; if 16 or 17, parental consent plus judges
signature is necessary.
Applicants have six months to pick up the license. Once picked
up, the license is good indefinitely.
There is a three-business-day waiting period to obtain a license.
Marriage licenses are issued by each of the county courthouses. The license
is valid throughout Iowa.
